One of our Project managers Alan Jones is taking part in the London 2017 Marathon due take place on 23rd April 2017. Every year, more than 30,000 people run the 26.2 miles (42.2 km) through the streets of London. The first half of the journey runs South of Thames through Greenwich and Blackheath. Crossing the Tower Bridge River, runners will pass some of the Capital’s famous landmarks including the London Eye and the Tower of London, before finally finishing right in front of Buckingham Palace.
In previous years, there have been many celebrities taking part, including Gordon Ramsay, Princess Beatrice, Ronan Keating and others. Some runners take part simply for personal achievement, others to raise money for their favourite charity. Alan and his brother are supporting an admirable cause and the money raised will go towards Mind, the mental health charity. According to a recent statistic 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. It's a cause that deserves support and we are looking forward to supporting Alan in raising money on behalf of Mind.
